Welcome!

Anyone with a desire to paint outside may join us each Saturday morning.

To get started, show up at the designated meeting point. If you see someone wearing a black hat with the PAPC logo on it, introduce yourself. There is no formal check in. Choose a location in the vicinity of our meeting point to paint, then go for it. Be mindful to clean up after yourself and dispose of your chemicals and paints responsibly (take them home). Meet back at the designated meeting point at Noon-ish for critique.

Meet Errol, Location Master

Errol Jacobson is the Location Master for the weekly PAPC paintouts. He selects sites and posts location information every week on our website.

Errol has been painting with the PAPC since 2005 and continues to crank out awesome work! Right on Errol!

If you have a suggestion for paintout locations, Errol wants to hear about it. Contact him directly or let him know at one of our outings.

November 29, North Park Village Nature Center

This Saturday we're returning to the North Park Village Nature Center on the northwest side of Chicago: here is the home page for the park.

This is a place worth going back to. The park doesn't open until 10:00 a.m.--but that will give extra time for our coffee.

Time: 10:00 a.m.

December 5, Group Show: Oleszkiewicz, Newman, Hajicek, Fullerton

This Friday, December 5, from 5 to 9, there will be an opening reception for a group show at the Palette and Chisel of work by four artists: Marci Oleszkiewicz, Kathleen Newman, James Hajicek, and Stuart Fullerton. The show begins on Friday and goes for about ten days.

This should be a wonderful evening, so stop by, have a glass of wine and a bite to eat, and enjoy the paintings. All four painters have been involved with the PAPC since its beginnings.

Saturday Paint Out - December 13th

Where: Lincoln Square / located at the intersection of Wilson Ave. and Lincoln Ave. and more specifically in front of Starbucks.

When: Saturday, December 13th at 8:30 (There will be a short critique at 12:00 in front of Starbucks. Please try to attend)

We haven't been back to this great little neighborhood for awhile.
Lincoln Square has a lot of character and will give us all lots of interesting views to paint.

Gompers Park - Saturday December 20th

When: Saturday, December 20th

Where: Gompers Park - meet in the parking lot off of Pulaski just south of Foster Ave.

Time: 8:30 - 12:00 - short critique after in the parking lot.

This is a great opportunity to paint winter scenes. With all the fresh snow we've been getting it should be perfect. This park has ponds, bridges, ravines and open knolls.

Public washrooms are in Jewel located in the shopping center at the corner of Foster and Pulaski.

North Pond - Saturday December 27th

When: Saturday, December 27th

Where: North Pond, 2610 N. Cannon Dr., Chicago (two blocks west of Fullerton Ave. and one block west of Lake Shore Drive)

Time: 8:30 a.m., critique at 12:00

North Pond is a scenic painting location with park and pond views in addition to classic vantage points of the Chicago skyline. Many of our painters have produced some nice paintings in the past at this location with more to come. Hope to see you there and Happy Painting !

Saturday January 3rd Paint Out - Lincoln Park / Biograph Theater

When: Saturday January 3rd @ 8:30 a.m.

Where: Biograph Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Ave. (Just north of Fullerton Ave.)

This Saturday we will paint in the Lincoln Park neighborhood at the intersection of Lincoln Ave. / Fullerton Ave. / Halsted St. Lots of painting opportunities including the historic Biograph Theater as well as a park, outdoor newstand, shops and windows.

Critique @ 12:00 in front of the Biograph Theater

Restrooms in the McDonalds at the corner of Fullerton and Lincoln.
