Welcome!

Anyone with a desire to paint outside may join us each Saturday morning.

To get started, show up at the designated meeting point. If you see someone wearing a black hat with the PAPC logo on it, introduce yourself. There is no formal check in. Choose a location in the vicinity of our meeting point to paint, then go for it. Be mindful to clean up after yourself and dispose of your chemicals and paints responsibly (take them home). Meet back at the designated meeting point at Noon-ish for critique.

Meet Errol, Location Master

Errol Jacobson is the Location Master for the weekly PAPC paintouts. He selects sites and posts location information every week on our website.

Errol has been painting with the PAPC since 2005 and continues to crank out awesome work! Right on Errol!

2009 PAPC Exhibit at the Palette & Chisel

Friday, May 1, 2009 - Sunday, May 10, 2009

Mark your calendars and get busy painting! Our annual show at the P&C will begin Fri, May 1, 2009.

Who is eligible:

-Any PAPC participant (MUST be registered as user on PAPC website)
- 3 paintings. 2 need to have been painted during a Saturday morning paintout in the last year. All paintings must be completed plein air.
- Nominal hanging fee required
- Volunteerism required

Paint out - Saturday 2/14 - Webster and Clybourn and

When: Saturday 2/14

Where: Webster and Clybourn and bridge at Webster and Ashland.

Time: 8:30 a.m., critique @ 12:00 in Starbucks (corner of Webster and Clybourn)

This area offers many painting opportunities including many urban city scenes in the vicinity of the Webster / Clybourn intersection. A little further west of Clybourn on Webster (a few blocks) check out the river / bridge / industrial views from the bridge...making for some interesting compositions.

Paint out: Saturday 2/21 - Roscoe Village

When: Saturday, February 21st

Where: Roscoe Village (meet at Starbucks 2023 W. Roscoe St.)

Time: 8:30 a.m.

We will be painting this weekend in colorful Roscoe Village neighborhood. Lots of shops, people and vibrant neighborhood atmosphere to capture for your masterpiece.

Paint out - Saturday 2/28 - Bucktown Alleys or....

When: Saturday 2/28

Where: Bucktown (meet at Starbucks at the corner of Hoyne and Armitage) @ 8:30 am, critique at Starbucks @ 12:00

We will be painting the alleys of Bucktown this Saturday. For those of us not into painting alley scenes there are lots of painting opportunities including the Map Room (corner of Hoyne and Armitage), Margies Ice Cream ( Corner of Armitage and Milwaukee), intersection of Armitage and Damen and all along Damen to the North and South...lots of shops and urban scenes.

Paint out - Saturday 3/7 - Wriglyville

When: Saturday 3/7 @ 8:30

Where: Wrighlyville neighborhood. Meet at the Pick Me Up Cafe, 3408 N. Clark St., Chicago.

Great neighborhood, lots of things to paint. Great corner is at School and Clark (one block south of the Pick Me Up Cafe).

Paint out - 3/14 - Lincoln Park Zoo

When: Saturday 3/14

Where: Lincoln Park Zoo in front of the seal pond.

Time: 8:30 am. We will have a group view of our days paintings @ 12:00 in front of the seal pond.

Its been awhile since we've all been back to paint the sites, sounds and animals at Lincoln Park Zoo. Needless to says lots of great vistas to paint....animals, buildings, people and nature.
