Welcome!

Anyone with a desire to paint outside may join us each Saturday morning.

To get started, show up at the designated meeting point. If you see someone wearing a black hat with the PAPC logo on it, introduce yourself. There is no formal check in. Choose a location in the vicinity of our meeting point to paint, then go for it. Be mindful to clean up after yourself and dispose of your chemicals and paints responsibly (take them home). Meet back at the designated meeting point at Noon-ish for critique.

Meet Errol, Location Master

Errol Jacobson is the Location Master for the weekly PAPC paintouts. He selects sites and posts location information every week on our website.

Errol has been painting with the PAPC since 2005 and continues to crank out awesome work! Right on Errol!

If you have a suggestion for paintout locations, Errol wants to hear about it. Contact him directly or let him know at one of our outings.

Quilt Garden’s Tour Paint Out, August 8 & 9, 2009, Elkhart County, Indiana

Elkhart County Convention and Visitor's Bureau, is teaming up with Sycamore Fine Arts in the Old Bag Factory to host our first annual, county-wide, Quilt Gardens Tour Paint Out. The tour follows the Heritage Trail, which has many beautiful sites along the way.

Thanks to Martha Stevens for letting me know that the Lilly Pond will be closed this weekend...probably because of the Air & Water Show.

In lieu of we will be painting at The Grove in Glenview.
Its been awhile since we've been there...lots to paint..nature, buildings, houses...meet at the main building with the long open porch.

Where: The Alfred Caldwell Lily Pond (Directions:
The Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool is located south of Fullerton Avenue, directly north of the Lincoln Park Zoo. There is a north entrance on Fullerton Avenue and a handicapped accessible entrance on the east side off the Cannon Drive parking lot.)

Call for Entries - Palos Plein Air Exhibition

PALOS PLEIN AIR EXHIBITION
October 7 - November 5, 2009

Hosted at McCord Gallery & Cultural Center

Artists are invited to submit up to 3 plein air paintings for
inclusion in an exhibition celebrating the 95th Anniversary
of Palos Park and 50th Anniversary of Palos Heights.

General Specifications and Rules:
- Paintings must be done on site between August 1 and September 20.
- All artwork submitted for review must
be "plein air," which means the paintings are to be executed outside, depicting any one of the many
interesting places in the Palos Park/Palos Heights area.

Paint Out - Saturday 8/29 - Andersonville / Edgewater

When: Saturday, 8/29

Where: Andersonville / Edgewater (We will meet at Starbucks, 5300 N. Clark St., Chicago.)

Time: 8:30, group view @ 12:00 at Starbucks

This weekend we will be painting in Andersonville / Edgewater in order to complete paintings for our upcoming show at the Edgewater Historical Society the first part of October. This will be our third consecutive year of participating in this show which has been a successful event for the PAPC with a number of paintings sold.
